【摘要】:p>Acousticemissionexaminationofastructurerequiresapplicationofamechanicalorthermalstimulus.Inthiscase,thesystemoperatingconditionsprovidethestimulation.Duringoperationofthepressurizedsystem,AEfromactivediscontinuitiessuchascracksorfromotheracousticsourcessuchasleakageofhigh-pressure,high-temperaturefluidscanbedetectedbyaninstrumentationsystemusingsensorsmountedonthestructure.Thesensorsareacousticallycoupledtothesurfaceofthestructurebymeansofacouplantmaterialorpressureontheinterfacebetweenthesensingdeviceandthestructure.Thisfacilitatesthetransmissionofacousticenergytothesensor.Whenthesensorsareexcitedbyacousticemissionenergy,theytransformthemechanicalexcitationsintoelectricalsignals.ThesignalsfromadetectedAEsourceareelectronicallyconditionedandprocessedtoproduceinformationrelativetosourcelocationandotherparametersneededforAEsourcecharacterizationandevaluation.AEmonitoringonacontinuousbasisisacurrentlyavailablemethodforcontinuoussurveillanceofastructuretoassessitscontinuedintegrity.TheuseofAEmonitoringinthiscontextistoidentifytheexistenceandlocationofAEsources.Also,informationisprovidedtofacilitateestimatingthesignificanceofthedetectedAEsourcerelativetocontinuedpressuresystemoperation.Sourcelocationaccuracyisinfluencedbyfactorsthataffectelasticwavepropagation,bysensorcoupling,andbysignalprocessorsettings.ItispossibletomeasureAEandidentifyAEsourcelocationsofindicationsthatcannotbedetectedbyotherNDTmethods,duetofactorsrelatedtomethodological,material,orstructuralcharacteristics.InadditiontoimmediateevaluationoftheAEsources,apermanentrecordofthetotaldatacollected(AEpluspressuresystemparametersmeasured)providesanarchivalrecordwhichcanbere-evaluated.1.1Thispracticeprovidesguidelinesforcontinuousmonitoringofacousticemission(AE)frommetalpressureboundariesinindustrialsystemsduringoperation.Examplesarepressurevessels,piping,andothersystemcomponentswhichservetocontainsystempressure.Pressureboundariesotherthanmetal,suchascomposites,arespecificallynotcoveredbythisdocument.1.2ThefunctionsofAEmonitoringaretodetect,locate,andcharacterizeAEsourcestoprovidedatatoevaluatetheirsignificancerelativetopressureboundaryintegrity.Thesesourcesarethoseactivatedduringsystemoperation,thatis,nospecialstimulusisappliedtoproduceAE.Othermethodsofnondestructivetesting(NDT)maybeused,whenthepressureboundaryisaccessible,tofurtherevaluateorsubstantiatethesignificanceofdetectedAEsources.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,seeSection6.
