【摘要】:Thispracticecoversthegenerationofasingle-phasesuspensionoremulsionfrommultiphasesampleswhichareprimarilyliquidinordertofacilitatesamplepreparation,transfer,andanalysis.Thispracticeisdesignedtokeepamultiphasefluidsampleinanemulsified/suspendedstatelongenoughtotakeasingle,compositesamplethatisrepresentativeofthesampleasawhole.Thesamplemayreformmultiplelayersafterstanding.Theemulsion/suspensiongeneratedbyfollowingthispracticecanbeusedonlyforanalyticalproceduresdesignedforthetotalsampleandproceduresnotsignificantlyaffectedbytheemulsifierorthepresenceofanemulsion/suspension.Thispracticeassumesthatarepresentativesampleofnotmorethanonelitrehasbeenobtained.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
